excuses, excuses....

sorry for being m.i.a. the last few days...i've just been traveling the world!

well, sort of...

first of all, i flew home to maine on wednesday! longest. day. ever. my flight left from salt lake city at 11:05 am, and i didn't get to portland until 12:30 in the morning on thursday! ok, so i did have 2 layovers, plus there's a 2-hour time difference, but still. it was brutal.

then, on friday, my parents and i drove down to boston {well, technically belmont} to visit the lds temple as part of my preparation for a mission. it is seriously such a beautiful place, and i'm so glad i got to go with friends and family.

while we were there, we visited our friends in swampscott, who my parents have known pretty much forever, and i've known at least since i was 9. so yeah...we go way back. they kept saying how much they couldn't believe that i was already 21! that's ok though, i can hardly believe it either sometimes...when exactly did i get so old?!

we spent most of the day saturday at the beach just down the street from their house, which basically made my life! i absolutely love the beach, and it was seriously perfect weather, so i couldn't have been happier. except maybe if i'd had my bathing suit...we weren't expecting such summer-like temperatures, so i ended up having to wear a t-shirt and jeans and call it good. not ideal, but i can't complain.

they also have a little boy {with awesome flaming-red hair...love it} who i played with most of the time, which was so great. if you haven't noticed, i love kids...haha so it worked out really well. he got to be the "boss of the beach," meaning he pretty much ordered around his mom and i in constructing a castle village {cause no one builds just one castle anymore...}. of course, he got a little carried away with his toy bulldozer every once in a while, so the fruits of our labors didn't last long, but it was still fun overall so i guess i'll let it slide.

i love vacation.

ps: i haven't forgotten about my killer music marathon, even though you might have by now...
i promise i'll be back on track tomorrow!

  1. I'm sure your bathing suits are fulfilling their potential in my basemenet without you.
