So...I do realize it's been almost a month since I said I would post "soon", but I swear I tried! It seemed like every time I sat down to blog, a million other things came up. Lame excuse, I know, but I'm sticking with it.
To make it up to you, here is a ridiculously long list of highlights from the past few months:
June:
CALIFORNIA! I got to drive down to my old roommate Karissa's house in Huntington Beach this summer, and it was absolutely amazing. I haven't been to California since I was 7 and I found out that I LOVE IT THERE! We even got to go to Disneyland...HECK YES!
I also got to go to a wedding reception in Elba, ID for one of my other roommates, Jamie. It was adorable. Totally worth the 3 hour drive there and back.
July:
Over 4th of July weekend my siblings and I went to Yellowstone for the first time. It was way cooler than I had expected. My favorite part was the simplicity of it all, and the fact that it was the clearest, bluest sky I've ever seen. I think I finally understand the whole "big sky country" thing...way to go Montana. I'm impressed.
I also had my 20th birthday on July 16th. I went to a waterpark and a movie with my friends. They're great :) I had so much fun.
One of the biggest highlights of the summer is that my very first NIECE was born! Aspen Senese Taylor is the most precious little thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to be there as she grows up and can actually talk back to me. It's still a little weird to have a conversation with yourself as she just sits there and stares up at you...she's cute though so I let her get away with it.
August:
HOME! In August I got to go back home to Maine for my first visit in a YEAR! It just felt so good to be back in New England again. I crammed my trip with beach outings and sightseeing, rock climbing with my dad, and basically took a million photos everywhere I went. I'm not sure the next time I'll be back, so i HAD to take pictures so I could sit in my bed in Provo and remember home. Pathetic, I know, but I freaking love that place!
I also got to be a bridesmaid in my roommate Corina's wedding this summer (Yep, it's true, all of my friends are getting married. It's ridiculous!)
September:
I spent Labor Day at my brother's house in Sandy again this year. One of the favorite activities of the weekend was taking Seth's bobcat out for a test drive in his backyard...basically, best day ever.
I was also reunited with our old family friends, the Durrant/Dymocks, which was such a blast. They're so fun and it just felt so familiar even though it's been years since we all have been together under the same roof.
October:
The big highlight of last month is that I officially got accepted to my major program, Early Childhood Education. I start classes next semester, which puts my graduation date to December 2012. So yeah, I'll be around for a while, but nbd, right? I mean, who DOESN'T graduate in 5 years these days?...haha
OK so there's your long-awaited update. As for this month, we'll just have to wait and see what kinds of adventures I can come up with! I really am looking forward to Thanksgiving for some good food and family time, though. Oh how I love vacations...bring it on November!
p.s. I tried to put photos in but I kept getting "html error" and I just got super frustrated and gave up...sorry! Maybe I'll figure it out later. We'll see.
