really utah?

yesterday i received 17 texts (literally.. seventeen!!) from byu emergency alert informing me that provo was in for "a winter storm that will far surpass anything that we've seen, probably for the last several years. the combination of snow, extreme cold, and possibly damaging winds will make travel extremely hazardous."

ok...sounds awesome!

my roommates and i were SUPER excited about the impending "blizzard," and were preparing ourselves to be  stuck at home with hot cocoa, a fire, and a movie with friends. sounds great, right? except for one small detail...it snowed for maybe a total of 45 minutes, and accumulated about 1/16th of an inch before it got blown away in the wind, and whatever did manage to stick melted later the next day.

seriously utah? so lame.

but at least a melissa, chelsea and i got to go on a little nature walk before it stopped falling. i'd say we definitely made the best of it...

apparently we pretty much kicked the storm's butt. our bad.

thanksgiving countdown:
i'm grateful for snow (even though it was slightly pathetic), and for thanksgiving break! bring on the turkey, pumpkin chocolate-chip cookies, office marathons, and sleeping in. i'm more than ready.
