"you're soft!"

fyi: i don't mean this to be a blog all about my experiences in preschool, but it tends to be the best part of my day, sooo....i can't help it.

that being said, i had a GREAT time in preschool today!! haha. for snack we celebrated one of the students' birthdays, so we had chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and crushed up oreos and a gummy worm on top! they were so good but soooo messy. i swear there was more cupcake on the floor than ended up in the kids' mouths. soo worth it though. plus, as we were eating snack, one of the little boys told me he thought my hair looked pretty. it was adorable. leave it to a preschooler to really boost your self esteem. it's too bad he had to ruin it later though by SMACKING MY BUTT (TWICE) during recess! yeah. definitely NOT ok...haha. i had to take him aside and remind him that that was NOT appropriate behavior, and asked him to apologize. pretty sure that'll be the last time he tries that...haha

the best part, though, was right after large group story time. the teacher had finished reading and we were all sitting in a circle on the rug, getting ready to split the kids up into groups for the next activity. one of the little girls sitting next to me leaned over and put her arm on my leg and said, "i want to be in YOUR group!" i had to remind her that the groups were already picked out, and that she might have to go with one of the other teachers, but that it would be ok because they are all very nice. she proceeded to stroke my leg and arm a couple times before responding, "but i love YOU because you're the softest!" yep. she loved me and wanted to be in my group because my pants and sweater were soft. i wish i could win over everyone else that easily...
